As one Harmony Central reviewer puts it:

"I really like the tone that gets belted outta this machine. It's got lots of low end, but still maintains the character of your fingers. With the fuzz low, it's almost like an overdrive/fuzz. When you crank the fuzz up, you can still hear every note in a chord, it's very transparent for a fuzz pedal!"

"The cool thing about it is if you roll back on the guitar volume, it cleans up like a baby's bum! And it really responds to your picking dynamics - like, play soft and you'll get clean, dig in and you get a hint of fuzz."

"Imagine a TS-808 fused with a Big Muff, and you've got the Peachfuzz: punch and transparency with a great fuzz tone!"

The objective when recording the soundclips below was to capture each Frantone pedal's unique character. In order to do so, we've tried to minimise other variables and idiosyncrasies in the signal chain.

We choose to use an "industry-standard" bass guitar, amp and speaker cabinet configuration as well as mic selection, so that the unique tones you hear are derived from the pedals.

We also chose to play the same riff for all samples, to make it easier to compare between each pedal.

The recordings were done as part of a three-hour session at Auckland's Studio 203 using an industry-standard AKG D112 mic.
