The D*A*M MKII is the only straight on exact
replica that D*A*M produce and with good reason
too. The MKII is a rebuild of the mighty Sola
Sound Tone Bender MKII that was made famous by a certain
Jimmy Page.
It is a part-for-part, sound-for-sound recreation of the original
Sola Sound units, so whether you are after
that elusive early- Led Zeppelin/Page-era Yardbirds
tone or just after one fantastically organic sounding
fuzz box, this could be for you. Features a three stage transistor
circuit that has almost endless amounts of sustain which will
remain remarkably controllable and melodic.

| |
| The objective when recording the soundclips below
was to capture each D*A*M pedal's unique character. In order to
do so, we've tried to minimise other variables and idiosyncrasies
in the signal chain. |
| |
| We choose to use an "industry-standard" guitar, amp
and speaker cabinet as well as mic selection, so that the unique
tones you hear are derived from the pedals. |
| |
| We also chose to play the same riffs/licks where ever possible,
to make it easier to compare between each pedal. |
| |
| The recordings were done as part of a three-hour session at Auckland's
Studio 203
using two mics - an industry-standard Shure SM57 and Royer Labs
R-121. |
| |
| The samples below use both mics blended together - if you'd like
to hear the clips with only one of the two mics, please contact
us and we can email the clips to you. |
